With indoor and outdoor classrooms suited to a variety of learning opportunities, the Cloquet Forestry Center (CFC) serves as a regional educational site for learners of all ages. Outside groups, agencies, and companies are welcome to rent our meeting rooms for specialized trainings and meetings. We offer meeting rooms, classrooms, a 140-seat auditorium, as well as lodging options and an on site caterer. Visitors are welcome for any length of time, whether it’s a short business meeting or a multi-day training.

Catering

Meals can be catered onsite by Room at the Table. Contact them at:

They operate independently from the University, so we cannot add their charge to your reservation. If you go through Room at the Table, and need to use our Dining Hall for your meals, the rental fee will not be applied. Any use after or before scheduled meals will incur the rental fee below. 

Tours & Bookings

 

Special forest tours and demonstrations can be arranged upon request. There is no cost to organize a tour. If it is an option for your group, $150 donations to our CFC Student Facilities and Field Programs Support fund are appreciated.

You can request an ASL interpreter using the request form found on the Disability Resource website through the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Auditorium

This space is designed to serve larger classes, meetings, workshops and conferences. 

The auditorium has tiered seating with 16 fixed tables, 98 fixed chairs, 10 movable tables and 42 movable chairs accommodating up to 140 people.

  • Integrated sound system for microphones & presentations
  • Podium with microphone, projector connections, and outlets to keep devices charged

Stine Room

This space is designed to serve medium or small classes, meetings, conferences, or workshops. It can also be used as a great breakout room if you have a larger group. Three large windows provide ample natural light to the room which can be easily darkened utilizing opaque window shades.  

Furnished with comfortable, ergonomically designed chairs and 6-foot movable tables for easy custom arrangement. 

This space comes equipped with: 

  • Integrated sound system for presentations
  • Podium with projector connections, and outlets to keep devices charged
  • Projector 
  • Large screen
  • Whiteboard

Library

This space is designed to serve medium or small classes, meetings, conferences, or workshops. It can also be used as a great breakout room if you have a larger group. Enjoy the picturesque view of tall pines nestled around the windows of this versatile conference room.

Furnished with 30 comfortable, ergonomically designed chairs and movable tables provides optimal room layout options.

Meeting Room

This space is designed to serve small classes, meetings, conferences, or workshops. It can also be used as a great breakout room if you have a larger group. Small upper windows allow natural light into the room.  This room features a beautiful mural of a Moose, which gave this room its nickname of the 'Moose Room'. 

This room is furnished with 20 comfortable, ergonomically designed conference chairs and several movable tables for maximum flexibility.  

This space comes equipped with:

Meeting (Moose) Room

Classroom

This space is designed to serve large to medium classes, meetings, conferences, or workshops. This rooms features 2 dividers that allow the large room to be separated in to 3 smaller ones making it a great option for breakout sessions for a larger group. The tiled floor also makes this space ideal for hands-on activities or as a cafeteria. 

This room is furnished with movable tables and classroom style chairs. 

This space comes equipped with: 

  • Dividers which can turn one large room into 3 smaller ones

Computer Lab

Currently the Computer Lab is undergoing a transitional period, as the majority of this equipment is unusable for various reasons. This space is still available, but would best be suited as a separate working space or presentation room rather than a computer lab. Please reach out to the Facility Coordinator if you have any questions.

Dining Hall

This space is designed to serve large to medium groups for all dining needs. This space adjoins the Classroom Administration Building right next to the Stine Room & Auditorium. 

This room is furnished with movable tables and chairs. 

The kitchen space is not available for use, as that is occupied solely by our onsite caterer Room at the Table. 

If you go through Room at the Table, and need to use our Dining Hall for your meals, the rental fee will not be applied. Any use after or before scheduled meals will incur the rental fee below.

Cost: $85 per day if using outside of Dining Hall needs

 

Pavilion

Let nature surround you while using our open-air pavilion built from red pine trees grown at the center. This rustic meeting space has a concrete floor and picnic tables, making it ideal for an outdoor classroom activity or to simply enjoy a meal together.

There is a fire pit next to the Pavilion as well that is open for all groups to use while they are onsite. Firewood is provided, do not bring outside firewood. If you would like to use the fire pit please add that in your request or reach out to the Facility Coordinator if you have more questions.

Accessibility Accommodations

The Classroom Administration Building which houses all of our meeting room spaces includes an elevator to access the Library & Administrative offices which are located on the second floor.
