Weather

The Cloquet Forestry Center has more than 100 years of daily weather data available for researchers. Data include minimum/maximum temperatures, precipitation, snow fall, snow depth, wind direction, and extreme temperature records.

Staff at the Cloquet Forestry Center have been collecting data since 1912. Our data meets the standards of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

In addition to the data collected as a NOAA Cooperative observer station, since 2012 we've sampled temperature, precipitation, snow depth (winter), soil temperature at 4 and 8 inches below the surface, relative humidity, barometric pressure, near-surface infrared radiation, and solar irradiance. These data are sampled every 20 seconds and aggregated at 5 minutes. Data for 11/10/2012 - 11/24/2014 are available on the DRUM; data collected since can be made available upon request. We also have an 80' self-supported tower that has space for additional instrumentation." It might make sense to add this below what's currently on the page.
