This area was used consistently by grouse for many years in the past because of its dense understory of hazel and scattered mature aspen trees. However, as the aspen trees die and other species take over, it is poorer habitat for grouse. To maintain grouse, some forest management would be required to maintain adequate food and shelter for them. |
